Decision Aids
These decision aid tools are designed to help the user make strategic water management decisions based on planned actions or previous cropping operations. Currently, these tools have been designed for use only in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and Winter Garden areas of Texas. In the near future other areas of Texas will be added.
Soil Water Management Tool
The Soil Water Management Tool is a web-based tool designed to enable producers to monitor the plant available soil water for a crop of choice for a period of 14 days from the current date. The user is asked to set up a weather file and periodically update the precipitation in order to receive the most accurate results.

IRRIG-AID

IRRIG-AID is a downloadable spreadsheet-based decision tool designed to assess the risk of various crop, soil, and irrigation practices, as well as quantify economic trade-offs in allocating soil and water resources to various cropping alternatives.
